Rich in History
The Goose in Fulham, on North End Road, is a proper, no nonsense London pub with a history of reinvention. It’s been the Crown Hotel, the Fulham Volunteer, and at one point, the Goose & Granite, though thankfully they dropped the granite bit. An extensive refurbishment in 2013 gave it a spruce up, with local boxer George Groves pulling the first pint. Today, it’s a solid, dependable pub, good beer, decent food, no frills, just how it should be.

Fulham and SW6
The Fulham of today, it’s all rather agreeable. A smart pocket of London where leafy streets, posh terraces, and the odd artisan café sit comfortably alongside a proper pub or two. The Thames is never far off, with its towpaths and riverside views, ideal for a quiet pint or a reflective stroll. Fulham Broadway hums with life, shops, bars, even the odd boutique pretending it’s Paris. And of course, you’re a stone’s throw from Chelsea and the roar of the football ground. Beyond that, South West London spreads out with parks, handsome houses, and just enough grit to stop it being too smug. Efficient transport, good food, and a general sense that things work, yes rather civilised and good old London life.
